Simon Duncombe, Founder

Simon has more than 20 years of experience as a founder and C-level executive in the IT and IT security industry. Since 2019, he has been developing AI-based systems, including anomaly detection and recommendation technologies. Personal experiences with mental health conditions led to the development of ephoria in 2020, which is being developed in collaboration with the ZHAW Institute of Applied Psychology.

Prof. Dr. Marcel Schär Gmelch, Psychotherapist

Marcel is a lecturer and psychotherapist and has taught at various universities in Switzerland. Since 2012, he has been Head of the Center for Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy at the ZHAW. Through his work at ephoria, he is committed to ensuring that everyone has a low-barrier access to mental health.

Gregor Waller, MSc, Project Leader

Gregor is the project manager for ephoria at ZHAW. He has a startup background and is co-head of the Media Psychology department at the ZHAW. He and his team study the media use of children and teenagers. Among other things, he is co-project leader of the much-cited JAMES study.

Jan Juchli, MSc, Psychotherapist

Jan has a Master's degree in Psychology and has been training in clinical psychology at the ZHAW since 2021. He also has a flair for programming and translates his experience into the implementation of our evidence-based dialogs.

Mirjam Jochim, MSc,Research Assistant

Mirjam is working as a research assistant in the ZHAW Media Psychology department since 2023. She was awarded for academic excellence during her studies abroad at Bond University in Australia. Mirjam has a background in performance arts and linguistics, and enjoys working at the intersection of creativity, psychology and language.

Miriam Duncombe

Miriam has a background in event management and entertainment. She is responsible for English-language communication and workplace customer care and looks forward to hearing from you.

Miss Ruby, CHO

Ruby is our Chief Happiness Officer. She is an intelligent female Bearded Collie with an unrestrained urge to play and has her own sense of humor. She knows many tricks and is always up for walk.
